It’s been in place since 1959, it’s part of a Brisbane City Council heritage-registered site and it’s undergone some exciting new changes. Find out how goa Signage worked with the Story Bridge Hotel to upgrade their iconic rooftop sign.
goa Signage were approached by Richard Deery - whose family has owned the Story Bridge Hotel since 1967 - to help upgrade the hotel's iconic rooftop sign. As one of the most recognisable fixtures on the Brisbane skyline, goa Signage's challenge was to upgrade the sign to a digital screen whilst respecting its heritage.
goa Signage worked with the hotel, as well as council and heritage listing agencies to ensure the historically significant sign was upgraded with the respect it deserved. The project consisted of a major restoration of the existing ‘bridge’ element at the top of the sign, as well as a double-sided LED display being installed at a comparable size to the previous structure.
goa Signage managed the entire process, including design works, council approvals, engineering, installation, commissioning and ongoing content scheduling.
The new LED sign gave the Story Bridge Hotel a platform to:
Advertise what they want, when they want - whether that is events or specials.
Advertising the venue in a dynamic way, changing by time of day, time of week and time of year.
Generating additional revenue through onselling to suppliers.
